From a family-run turnery to an international partner for precision mechanics

Founded in 1960 in Almè (BG), O.M.F. specialises in precision mechanical machining for the oil & gas sector and for highly complex industrial applications.

We have grown from a small turnery, thanks to the commitment and expertise of the people who passionately contribute to building our story, day after day.

We continue to develop our standing as a leader in the field of medium- and heavy-duty valve machining, transforming collective experience into tangible and lasting value.

1960

July 1960

The “Torneria Fumagalli Amelio” is founded

Our story began in the summer of 1960 in Almè (BG) with Torneria Fumagalli Amelio: a small workshop with a traditional lathe, a milling machine and a strong desire to build the future, one piece at a time.

1974

First stage of expansion

Completion of the first industrial building

In 1974 we built our first industrial building: we relocated our existing machinery, installed new equipment and organised the space in a more efficient manner. This was a significant step that marked the beginning of our industrial evolution.

1975

The new generation

A new chapter for the Fumagalli family

In 1975, two of the founder’s children joined the company, bringing new energy, technical expertise and a more ambitious vision. This marked the beginning of a process of growth that brought together artisan experience and entrepreneurial drive.

1985

Technological evolution

The company becomes “Officina Meccanica Fumagalli S.n.c.”

In 1985 the company became Officina Meccanica Fumagalli S.n.c., and introduced the first two CNC machines, marking the beginning of a new phase in technological and production development.

1988

A new market

Our official entry into the oil & gas market

We entered the oil & gas market by partnering with an international sector leader. A milestone that consolidated our specialist expertise in precision machining.

1999

Structural growth

The new Almè facilities are born

We built our new headquarters; a larger and more modern space that allowed us to invest in advanced technology and machinery to handle medium- and heavy-duty machining up to 20,000 kilograms, expanding our production capacity.

2000

A generational change

The company becomes an S.r.l.

We welcomed new collaborators and became O.M.F.. S.r.l., consolidating our corporate structure. The arrival of the third brother at the helm marked the first generational change, with management passing to the founder’s three children.

2004

Expansion of the headquarters

Expansion driving growth

We expanded our headquarters to increase our production space and render our internal organisation more efficient. This operation allowed us to handle increasingly complex processing with greater operational continuity.

2021

Industry 4.0

Expansion of headquarters and new investments in production

We purchased the adjacent building, increasing the production area and introducing new machinery. This period also saw completion of the transition to Industry 4.0, connecting all systems to the company computer network.

2025

New continuity

We are now a global presence in the oil & gas market, collaborating with some of the most important players in the sector. 2023 marked the beginning of the second generational change, consolidating long-standing partnerships and expanding the services offered.

We manufacture components for valves, flanges, structures and closures, guaranteeing high performance even under extreme conditions.

Water

We produce precision mechanical parts for fluid treatment and control plants, guaranteeing durability and compliance with standards.

Hydrogen

We work with companies in the field of energy transition, producing components for turbines, compressors and hydrogen systems.

Nuclear

We perform high-precision machining for nuclear plants and security systems, guaranteeing complete traceability.

Our commitment to people and the environment

The safety of individuals and respect for the environment are core aspects of our work. In 2024, we began the process in preparation for the Sustainability Report, with the support of the European Social Fund Plus, to integrate ESG principles and promote co-funded training to support sustainable transition.
